Heinkel He 162 A-2 Flown by Oberleutnant Emil Demuth, 3./JG 1, Leck/Germany, 5 May 1945.
On April 15 and 16, under the temporary command of Oberleutnant Demuth, I./JG 1 transferred to the airfield at Leck, near Husum. The mission of the unit was to attack Allied aircraft approaching Berlin from the North Sea. On 24 April 1945, Demuth became the non-flying Staffelkapitän of 3./JG 1. Emil Demuth's previous 16 victories were all neatly painted on the rudder of his new He 162.
